** ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS include: Old household pesticides, herbicides, solvents, paint thinners, aerosol cans, oil-based paint, motor oil, mercury, batteries, corrosives, old prescriptions. We will also be accepting up to twelve (12) car/truck tires (no tractor or semi tires) at all locations. They must be off the rim!
** MATERIALS NOT ACCEPTED include: Explosive and radioactive materials, medical waste, commercial and industrial wastes and latex paint.
TWO LOCATIONS:
1. Flint East - Water Service Center - 3310 E. Court Street; Opposite Consumer’s Energy between Center and Dort. Take I-69 to either Center or Dort exit, go North to Court Street.
2. Grand Blanc West High School, - 1 Jewett Trail, Grand Blanc. South on Saginaw St. Turn right on Holly Rd.
All sites will be between the hours of 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Coordinated by the Household Hazardous Waste Consortium of Genesee County including the Genesee County Health Department, Genesee County Recycling Coalition, MSU Extension, General Motors Environmental Staff in Flint, UAW Local 599, Delphi Staff. Major support provided by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners and the City of Flint.
